Dear Sir or Madam,

GRAND STRAND SEASON · Episode 3 · Events

Summer gets the crowds. Fall and the holidays get the locals, and that’s when the beach is at its best.

The dates below follow the 2025 calendar published by Visit Myrtle Beach, which is the most recent full schedule available. These events repeat each year, usually on similar weekends. Confirm 2026 dates with each organizer before you book.

November

  • Flavors of Fall: Main Street, North Myrtle Beach (early November).
  • Taste of the Town: Myrtle Beach Convention Center, its 41st year in 2025.
  • Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast: near the MarshWalk, with a wristband for all-you-can-eat oysters.
  • Dickens Christmas Show & Festivals: Myrtle Beach Convention Center, mid-November.
  • Thanksgiving Turkey Trots: Valor Park at Market Common, Barefoot Landing and Surfside Pier.

Lights season (late November into January)

  • The Great Christmas Light Show, North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex: a drive-through with “more than two million lights and 500 displays.”
  • Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens: “over 2,700 hand-lit candles.”
  • Intracoastal Christmas Regatta: decorated boats on the waterway from North Myrtle Beach to Little River.

Tree lightings and parades (late November – mid-December)

Broadway at the Beach usually lights its tree first, with fireworks, followed by Market Common and Barefoot Landing. Then come parades in Loris, Broadway at the Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Conway and Murrells Inlet, plus a holiday golf-cart parade at Barefoot Landing (Visit Myrtle Beach).

Planning notes

  • Downtown Myrtle Beach meters are free now (Ep. 1). Event lots and private lots may still charge.
  • Rental owners: November weekends with a big event are your best chance to fill shoulder-season gaps. Mention the event in your listing title.
  • The Myrtle Beach Marathon isn’t a fall event. It’s the first weekend of March (next: March 6, 2027).

GRAND STRAND SEASON is GrandStrand.app’s running guide to living, visiting and doing business on the Grand Strand, from Little River to Pawleys Island. Previous: Ep. 2. Next: Ep. 4, the rental owner’s compliance checklist.
