The Family Beach Week Playbook
The best family beach weeks are planned around two things: enough space that nobody is on top of each other, and enough water that nobody gets bored. Get those right and the rest of the week takes care of itself.
1. Book the bedrooms you need
Count beds before you count dollars. All six Myrtle Beach Seaside Resorts offer one-, two- and three-bedroom condos, so a family of five or two families traveling together can keep separate rooms and still share a kitchen and living room.
2. Pick a pool deck built for kids
- The Towers at North Myrtle Beach: kiddie water play area with a waterslide, plus an outdoor lazy river with a waterfall.
- Avista Resort: a kiddie pool outside and a lazy river both indoors and out.
- Grande Shores: a kiddie pool indoors and a rooftop lazy river.
- Prince Resort: kiddie pools alongside oceanfront and rooftop pools, right at the pier.
3. Make laundry a non-event
Sandy suits, wet towels, one spilled milkshake. The Horizon at 77th and The Towers both put a washer and dryer in every condo, which means lighter suitcases.
4. Plan around the sun, not the clock
Beach in the morning, a long lunch back at the condo, pool and lazy river in the afternoon, and a walk on the sand at golden hour. Check the live surf and tide on the GrandStrand.app home screen before you head out, and keep the beach rules by season handy.
5. Let the resort match you
